Attendance Policy

Please remember that our tardy bell rings at 7:50 a.m. If students are not inside the building at 7:50, they will be considered tardy. Exceptions are occasionally made for heavy traffic in front of the school and certain weather conditions. 

Notes must be sent to the office within three days of a student's absence. Excused absences include illness, doctor's visits, family death, and most family emergencies. Family trips, vacations, car problems, childcare issues, etc. will not be considered excused.

Below is a schedule to help you understand the policy.

If the student arrives at...

• 7:30-7:40am        

  • Cafeteria open for breakfast; students not eating breakfast can sit in the gym or wait outside with a parent

• 7:40-7:50am        

  • Bell rings to go to class

• 7:51-8:05am        

  • Tardy (Student will have a slip from office)

• 8:06-8:59am        

  • Late (Counts toward truancy and requires a doctor’s note to be excused)

• 9:00am-3:00pm        

  • Absent (Leaving school earlier than 3:00 p.m. will also be documented)
