MPE Outdoor Learning Center

The MPE Outdoor Learning Center is a Certified Wildlife Habitat through the National Wildlife Federation that serves as an open-air laboratory where students perform scientific experiments, plant and harvest various crops, and observe and learn about ecosystems. The experiential curriculum allows students from kindergarten through sixth grade to expand their understanding of science and their connection to nature.

Here's what we have to look forward to every year in the OLC:

*K-6 curriculum-based weekly lessons that will integrate the 4 TEKS (Science, Math, Language Arts and Social Studies.)

* We reach out to MPE families, community volunteers, Master Gardeners and anyone who loves to get their hands in the dirt to help in the OLC. We have a series called "In the Garden" that allows Master Gardeners to gain their hours needed for the year. Kids and volunteers will benefit!

If you have any questions or would like to volunteer, feel free to contact Lindsay Baronoskie at Lindsay.Baronoskie@risd.org.

MPE STUDENTS & CHICKENS LOVE THE OLC!
